Keeping His Ways

“For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have not turned from my God to follow evil.”  Psalm 18:21 NLT

What do you do when you’ve been hunted like an animal and targeted for destruction? When Saul was disobedient and God chose David to be king instead of Saul, Saul did everything he could to capture David and kill him. David spent many years running for his life. While many of us have not literally experienced the feeling of being hunted and chased with the purpose of death, there are many experiences in life that feels like we are targeted for destruction.

Well there are some things that we can learn from David’s life. What made David successful? In verse 30 David said, “God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true.  He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.” God’s ways are perfect. God is morally upright. His ways are a reflection of who He is. When David kept His ways, he did that which was right before God. Saul was seeking his life and in the ways of man he would be justified in taking Saul’s life in self defense. Yet David kept God’s morally upright ways and did not stretch out his hand to harm Saul. If we keep the ways of the Lord, then God will also deliver us.

Thought for Today: God will not allow the enemy to devour you

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory
