“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. Luke 6:27-28 TPT
Most people will tell you that they love God. They send you picture quotes and post little tidbits on Social Media so that others will know that they love God. True love for God requires the individual to modify their life and walk in a manner that pleases God.
Loving God and walking with Him can have some rough moments. There are moments in life when you want to feel free to respond in kind to those who misuse and mistreat you. But, when you find yourself in that position, you find that all your well laid plans to get even fall flat. The Spirit of God working in your life interferes with your desire to get even. Jesus gave the plan of action for these occasions. It doesn’t matter who you are and what you do, there will be those who dislike you and want the worst for you. When that happens, Jesus said to love them..
It’s as simple as that. How do you love those who want to harm you? Start where you are. Instead of responding in the way that you feel, respond according to the word: “Do good to those who hate you.” Some may ask, “Are you out of your mind? Do you know my story?” I don’t’ but God knows. If they need help, help them. Jesus went on the say, “Bless those who curse you.” That means when they say unkind things to you and about you, speak well of them. Then take the time to pray for them. This could be the most difficult part. But when you can genuinely pray for them, it becomes easy to love them and to do good to them. Then you can walk in obedience to the word of God.
Thought for Today: Pray for those who are difficult to love.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
Amen!
The Word of God ask us to live in peace as much as it depends on you and not the other person or who started it first.
If we truly want to be obedient to God’s. I think we should start with being obedient to His Word (Which is Jesus)!
