Hope Brings Joy

 Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times. Romans 12:12 TPT

One thing in life that does not discriminate is trouble. It walks into every life. He has a vast number of family members and they make themselves at home in your life. These experiences can be difficult and cause you to feel hopeless. When you are faced with the anxieties of life, what do you do?  Do you allow the weight of your troubles to crush you or is there another option? Paul gave another option in this scripture verse. He talks about hope. Why hope?

Well the dictionary defines hope as a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. That is not what Paul was speaking about. Paul was speaking about hope that trusts in, waits for, looks for or expects something beneficial in the future. Romans 5:5 says, “And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”  So when the uncertainties of life come your way, let joy come alive in you. Joy is like a spring running on the inside. The issues you face would love to stop that river of joy on the inside, but it can’t. Take time to talk with God and wait for Him to bring change into your life.
