“So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. Deuteronomy 8:6 NLT
In every area of life, there are benefits for following the rules. If you are a driver, the posted speed limit is the rule to follow. If you stay within the speed limit, all is well. If you decide to drive and set your own speed limit then you have a problem because there are many consequences when you break the speed laws. The best way to keep out of trouble with tickets and speeding is to follow the speed limit.
Parents set guidelines for their children to follow because they want what’s best for them. It is the same way with the walk of faith. God wants the best for His children. So the directive here is to walk in the ways of the Lord. Why? Paul says it this way in Colossians 1:10 says, “Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.”
Your walk of faith is an ongoing process. It is a lifestyle that you cultivate. It comes from a consistent, day by day walk with God. It is not a walk that can be done in your own strength. Isaiah 64:6 says, “We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.” In your own strength you are doomed to fail. But Galatians 5:16 tells us, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” The walk is impossible alone but possible with the help of God.
Thought for Today: Friend, fear God and walk with Him
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
Amen 🙏🏽🙏🏽
