When the king of Aram was at war with Israel, he would confer with his officers and say, “We will mobilize our forces at such and such a place. ”But immediately Elisha, the man of God, would warn the king of Israel, “Do not go near that place, for the Arameans are planning to mobilize their troops there.” 2 Kings 6:8-9 NLT
There is an old TV show called the Six Million Dollar Man. The leading character was an astronaut who was injured and to save his life they gave him bionic parts. This made him very strong. But he also had a bionic ear. I don’t know the range of the bionic ear but he was able to overhear conversations between people who were far away. So if the characters were plotting mischief, then he would know the plan and take appropriate action.
The king in Israel was really grateful to have Elisha serving as a prophet of God. In those days, the king of Aram desired to fight against Israel, He would make his plans but when he went out and executed his plans; they were unsuccessful. You see, God would reveal every detail of his plans to Elisha. Then, Elisha would warn the king. So the king of Aram became suspicious; he believed that there was a spy in his camp. He couldn’t understand how every plan fell flat. But there was one man who understood what was happening. He heard about Elisha the prophet. He told the King, “It’s not us, my lord the king, Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!” verse 12.
The secret things in this world belong to God and He reveals them to His children. Amos 3:7 NKJV says, “Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” This is what the King of Aram didn’t understand. The prophet didn’t need bionic ears to hear the discussion; God revealed every detail of the king’s plan. This was not a onetime event; it happened several times. Psalm 24:14 says “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.” If you want to know the secrets things of God, fear Him.
