Reject Disobedience

But if you rebel against the Lord’s commands and refuse to listen to him, then his hand will be as heavy upon you as it was upon your ancestors. 1 Samuel 12:15 NLT

There are some things in life that are just special: the first day of school, your first job, your first car. In fact, anything that is first is special in many ways. There are some instances that first, is not a happy thing. The first time the police pulls you over, and give you a speeding ticket is definitely not a good thing.

Children always want they see; if blue bikes are what the other children are riding, then little ones will be asking their parents for blue bikes. Sometimes adults can behave just like children. Israel was the only nation that was led by God. However, they wanted to be like the other nations and began to desire a king. I Samuel 8:7 God told Samuel, Do everything they say to you,” the Lord replied, “for they are rejecting me, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer.”  Samuel anointed Saul as the first king in Israel. Then he cautioned them about what could happen if they disobeyed God.

Simply put, disobedience is sin; God is holy and does not condone sin. Deuteronomy 11:28 says, “But you will be cursed if you reject the commands of the Lord your God and turn away from him and worship gods you have not known before.” While God gives man the ability to choose, there are consequences for rejecting the way of righteousness.  Isaiah 30:1 says, “What sorrow awaits my rebellious children,” says the Lord. “You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.”  Make the right choice today: choose to obey God.

Thought for Today: Friend. don’t reject the commands of the Lord.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
