Caution! God’s Work in Progress

I’m not a big TV person but I love to watch British Comedies. My favorite show is Keeping Up Appearances. I have seen every episode multiple times. Mrs. Bucket is always getting into all kinds of trouble because she wants people to believe that she is someone that she is not. Then people would  always discover her secret no matter how she tried to pretend. She is a funny lady.

Real life is full of twists and turns. Sometimes they take us to great destinations; sometimes they don’t. The things that happen in our lives that are not pleasant can cause us some discomfort. What do we do when life causes pain?  And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28 NLT) You see, God calls us and has a purpose for every life.

What does everything mean? Does everything mean the times when we are experiencing the worst that life has to offer? Yes even in those moments, God can bring good out of that seemingly difficult experience. Psalm 34:19 says, “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”  Great words of comfort when we are living through the “everything” experience. The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 7:8-9,”We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.”  It’s comforting to know that “everything” is not meant to destroy us.  But when we look back at the change that came into our life as we battled with that difficult situation; we must admit that God caused everything to work for our good.

Thought for Today: Friend, trust the process; God is working.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
