No Second Chances!

It’s amazing how memories come flooding into your mind as you recall one event or sometimes one person. While I was preparing last Monday’s post where I shared about my friend Elder Don-Marie Banfield-Jones, I recalled another friend, Karen Holder.

Karen is another dear friend and yes, I have some great friends. Karen is a multi-talented individual and last week she performed in a play that she wrote called No Dress Rehearsal. I know if I said to you, it was fantastic, you would say yea, that’s her friend talking. But strangers who had never seen her before that performance said it was really great. After the show, someone asked why the play was called No Dress Rehearsal. Her response was there are times in life we don’t get a chance for a do over. So, I hope you can see the connection between those two ladies and their stories.

If you know that there are some events that you will not be able to do over, do you believe that you should be proactive and do all you can to prepare yourself? If you want to drive a car legally, you need a driver’s license. If you take the exam and fail, you can do it a second time or as many times as you need. God created man with purpose and destiny in mind and there will come a day when every person will meet Him face to face. You will have just one chance to get it right. There is no dress rehearsal for that event.

How do you prepare? Well Jesus met a ruler who wanted that same information. Jesus told him, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NLT) That is the gospel in a nutshell. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. You would not get a second chance to stand before God. Prepare to meet God now.

Thought for Today: Friend, it’s time to begin preparation to meet God.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
