Walking around in a dark house is not one of my favorite things to do; and now with vertigo issues, I like it even less. This is the definition that describes how I feel when I’m experiencing a vertigo episode; vertigo is dizziness that creates the false sense that you or your surroundings are spinning or moving. There is more to it than that because it affects your balance. So, walking around in a dark room is not the thing to do.
The solution: always choose a lighted path. The dictionary defines light as the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. Our walk of faith requires that we walk in a path lighted by the word of God. “Understanding your word brings light to the minds of ordinary people.” (Psalm 119:30 CEV ) When you walk without light, you put yourself at risk of a nasty fall. There are countless stories of people who lost their life after a fall. The same is true for as people of faith, we are at risk if we walk without the light of God’s word.
Without light, there is the risk of getting lost. If you cannot see where you are going, you are not certain that you are headed in the right direction. “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.” (Proverbs 14:12 NLT) We cannot direct our steps without the light of the word of God if we want to arrive at our destination of everlasting life.
Light gives us the ability to choose where we are going. David said, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105). It’s interesting that David used to word guide; the word of God is a light to show the way. We are all on a journey of preparation to meet God. Let the word of God light your path and you will arrive at your destination of eternal live with Jesus Christ. Don’t allow the enemy to introduce vertigo issues in your walk with God.
Thought for Today: Friend, Jesus is the only way to God.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
So true Pastor Scott.
