Healing in His Words

As technology increases, we are bombarded with new information and discoveries. We also discover new illnesses and diseases.  I often hear people pose this question, “Where are all these illnesses and diseases coming from? Some of these things have always been around but were unclassified. New Technology has put names to things that have been around for years.

When the doctors medicine says no; Jesus says yes. Psalm 107:20 NLT says, “He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.” In Mark 5, we meet a man, Jairus,  with a problem; the doctors were unable to make his daughter well. She was dying before his eyes, and he made the decision to go to Jesus. When Jesus arrived at the house there was a great commotion because they said that the girl was dead.  Jesus stepped in; “Holding her hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means “Little girl, get up!”  And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed.” Mark 5:41-42) Jesus spoke words of healing into her life.

John 5 tells of a man who was paralyzed. At that time, there was a pool that represented healing. At certain periods, an angel of the Lord troubled the waters and the first person to enter the pool was healed. He was at the pool for thirty-eight years waiting for his season. One day Jesus asked him if he wanted to be healed.   “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” (John 5:7-8)

Jesus can speak healing into sick bodies. 1 Peter 2:24 says it this way: “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.”  His words still heal today.
