Relationships are important in life; it’s in our relationships that we learn to trust. Trust means to believe on the reliability, truth ability or strength of (in our case, God,) to do what He says He can do. Psalm 9:10 AMP says, “And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not abandoned those who seek You.”
David began this Psalm with, “I will give thanks and praise the Lord, with all my heart; I will tell aloud all Your wonders and marvelous deeds.” We can tell that something wonderful happened in David’s life. He directed his first statements to God. He wanted to give praise and thanks to God. That was not enough, because he decided he would tell others about the reason why he wanted to give thanks.
He goes on to share why he was giving thanks; “For You have maintained my right and my cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously.” (Verse 4) David knew what it was like to be under attack. And we know that when you are under attack, many times, you are alone. But in his time of trouble, David looked to God. He knew God to be a refuge. In Psalm 46:1, David said, “God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.”
So, David is encouraging us, that in our difficult and trying times we can trust in God. When there is more month than money, we can trust God. When we have health problems, we can trust God. When we have problems on our jobs and in our families, we can trust God. Whatever comes our way, God will never abandon or forsake us. We can trust in Him.
Thought for Today: Friend, let’s look past our problems and praise God.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
