There is not a person alive who does not get excited when promised something good. Not every promise has a reward because when you are a child certain promises have some not so desirable consequences. But young or old a promise of something good is something to look forward to.
Now a promise is only as good as the integrity of the person making the promise. An employment opportunity is a promise to give your service in exchange for a paycheck. Employees discovered that their employers were not reputable when they did not receive what the promised reward. Genesis 12:2-3 NLT says,“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” The Lord made this promise to Abram when He told Abram to change his location.
Abram did not have any experience with the Lord to determine if the Lord had the integrity to keep His word, but he obeyed. He began his journey. He arrived at the specified place and waited for the Lord to fulfill the promise in his life. A childless man cannot become a great nation. Abram waited and believed God. Even when the promise appeared to be as good as dead. Twenty-five years later, Abraham received the promise when God blessed Abraham and Sarah with a son in their old age. God keeps his promises.
Thought for Today: Friend, you can trust the faithfulness of God.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
