New Beginnings!

What do you do when you are in a difficult situation? Well, it’s easy to become depressed and feel forsaken. I gather that is the way the people of God were feeling in Isaiah 48. They forsook the God who delivered them from Egypt and were now living as exiles in Babylon.

There is not too much you can say to lift the spirit of those in exile. The future stretches before them as a shadow filled with the sting of captivity.  Yet, God sent a message that brought hope into their lives. Verses 18-19 says, “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” The first thing they had to do was forget about the past.

As we stand in this new year, we also need to forget the past. We need to forget the pain and hurt we experienced in 2023. There are those who might say, “You have no idea what I went through. I can’t forget all about it that easily.” Well, there is a choice to make: cling onto the baggage of 2023 or release the hurt and the pain and forget all that. When you do, you will be free to embrace what God had planned for you in 2024. He wants to do a new thing; God said that He would make pathways through the wilderness and rivers through the dry wastelands. Do you know what? He can do that for you. All you must do is let go of the past because God is about to do something new. Embrace it!

Thought for Today: Friend, just let go of it.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.

  1. The writer said friends just let go. I want to add friends, and all who read her blog, trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, so GOD HIMSELF can give you the directions for your life. Amen!
