There are times in life when we desire a ‘personal’ touch. There are so many situations where we are part of a collective. With our parents, we are children; with our children we are parents. On our job we are part of the workforce, and the list goes on. But there are times when we just want to be who we are. We want to be called by our name. In other words, we long for that personal touch.
In Psalm 147:4 CEV the psalmist says, “He decided how many stars there would be in the sky and gave each one a name.” That verse really spoke to my heart. The number of stars in the sky was a well thought out plan by God. Then he gave each star a name. I had to pause and reflect. I am what people call a plant mom; I have a lot of plants. Recently I gave away a few but I still have a lot. There is no way that I could give each plant a name and remember without a picture with the name as a reminder.
Now if God has such a personal connection with the stars, don’t you think He has a personal connection with you? “Aren’t two sparrows sold for only a penny? But your Father knows when any one of them falls to the ground. Even the hairs on your head are counted. So don’t be afraid! You are worth much more than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:29-31) What more can we say? When you desire a personal touch, look no further. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us how much He cares for us. It says, “God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him.” Take Him at His word; He will give you a personal touch.
Thought for Today: Friend, your relationship with God is a personal experience.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
