Work Your Faith!

When you share information with others, some people believe you while others are not too sure about your information. In other words, they are exhibiting doubt. The dictionary defines doubt as being uncertain about something; you consider the information questionable. Most of us have been on both sides of this coin: our information has been considered questionable and we evaluated information and considered it questionable.

It is easy to accept information if the source is reliable. Would you believe grandma who says it will rain because she has this pain in her joints or the weatherperson who says we will have a sunny day. We tend to take our information from the more reliable source, the weatherperson. When we look at what happened after the resurrection, we see that some of the disciples were uncertain about the status of  the resurrection. The eleven followers went to Galilee to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. On the mountain they saw Jesus and worshiped him, but some of them did not believe it was really Jesus. (Matthew 28:16-17 NCV)

It would be easier to understand if these men were not the disciples. Why did some believe and some doubt? That question is as relevant today as it was then. We are all on various levels of faith. Even those who were weak in faith obeyed Jesus’ command and came to the mountain. Notice, Jesus did not wait until their faith became strong; He gave them the Great Commission. So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you, and I will be with you always, even until the end of this age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20) We don’t have to wait until we have great faith; we can begin where we are. As we continue to follow Jesus and obey, like the disciples, we will become stronger and do the will of God. Their faith grew as they did the work of ministry; the same will happen in our lives as we work wholeheartedly for the Lord.

Thought for Today: Friend, trust God and change will come.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
