Harmonious Living

In 2 Corinthians 13:11, the Apostle Paul gave four guidelines for living that the believers should embrace as part of their lives. “Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.”

He clearly states that we should encourage each other. It’s difficult to encourage people with whom there is no relationship. So, The Apostle Paul expects us to live in a relationship with each other. When he saw this happening, he told the congregation, “Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11 AMP) I wonder if he were looking at us today, would he be able to say that about us?

The last guideline says to live in harmony and peace Harmony is a musical word. When there is vocal harmony in singing, it’s pleasant and pleasing to the ear. Not everyone is singing the same note, but all the notes combine to create melodious harmony. When we work together and agree with each other then we have that same pleasing melody going up before God. Let us live in harmony and the God of love and peace will be with us.

Thought for Today: Friend, let’s work at living in harmony.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
