Deliverance Through God’s Mighty Hand

Have you ever waited in anticipation for an event in your life? It seems that when we were children, we were always waiting in anticipation. There were birthdays, Christmas, weddings to play a part and many other things.

While the children of Israel were in Egypt, they were looking in anticipation for the day when they would be free, and the day was finally here! So Moses said to the people, “This is a day to remember forever—the day you left Egypt, the place of your slavery. Today the Lord has brought you out by the power of his mighty hand. (Exodus 13:3 NLT) This was the day they were praying for after they were enslaved in Egypt. They were  on their way to possess the promise God gave to Abraham. Joseph also  knew that this day would come so he requested that they take his bones out of Egypt when they leave.

Moses told them that this was no ordinary day. They went into Egypt as a family, and they were leaving as nation. God’s mighty hand brought the might Pharaoh to his knees. The harder his heart became; the more God demonstrated His power. When God struck the first born of Egypt, Pharaoh relented; they were free to leave.

In our lives we also have some momentous landmarks when God did some mighty things in our lives. Can you recall on of these landmarks when your life was changed for the better? The day the burden was lifted, and you were free? The day God delivered you by His mighty hand. That should generate the same response from us. It should lead to a heart of thanksgiving and gratitude. Let us follow Samuel’s example in 1 Samuel 7:12 TLB, Samuel then took a stone and placed it between Mizpah and Jeshanah and named it Ebenezer (meaning, “the Stone of Help”), for he said, “The Lord has certainly helped us!” I thank God for His mighy hand in my life.

Thought for Today: Friend, God is our very present help.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
