I am not someone who likes to watch war movies. I don’t like to see violence but when it comes to war, I would think the group with the best battle plan would be victorious. Who knows if that is right? I’m sure that there are other things that influence the success of the battle.
Well, when it comes to making battle plans, there is no one like our God. The journey of the children of Israel in the wilderness, is a manual filled with strategies. In Exodus 14, God set plans in motion to confuse the enemy. First, He told them, “Camp along the shore; Pharaoh will think you are confused and trapped in the wilderness!” They obeyed. You see, God had a plan. And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord!” (Exodus 14:4 NLT)
Isn’t God wonderful? God told them to do something that’s seemed foolish. I can almost hear the voices in the camp if we had that kind of direction to follow. We would have to schedule a time to debate, discuss, dissect, and discourage everyone in the camp because we have become so empowered, we don’t want to participate in things that would make us look foolish. We allow our pride to dictate our behavior and we miss God’s plan. There is purpose in God’s plan. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Don’t miss God’s best; follow God’s directions- there’s victory on the other side.
Thought for Today: Friend, trust God and see what He will do for you.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
