Looking Beyond: Find God’s Plan

What would you do if you had the opportunity to live and be the heir of the richest individual on the planet? Many would jump at the opportunity. There would be drastic changes in your life; you would go from employee to employer and from ‘have not’ to ‘have all.’

The Bible recounts the life of a man who had a similar experience; his name was Moses. He lived when the children of Israel were enslaved in Egypt. But, even though they were slaves, something was happening; they were growing faster in number than the Egyptians. As a result, Pharaoh decreed that all the male children of the slaves must die. That did not prevent Moses’ mother from doing everything in her power to save his life. As a result, he was adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter, who hired his mother to care for him.

When he got older, he didn’t turn his back on his heritage; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season (Hebrews 11:25 KJV) Sometimes, we too have to make those choices. There is always the easy way or short-cut. But what is the God directed path laid out for us? Don’t be so concerned about the benefits here that you bypass the eternal benefits God has prepared for us.

Thought for Today: Friend, always choose God’s way.
