When you are going through difficulty, that difficulty can seem to take on a life of its own; it can consume your thoughts for every waking moment of the day. You focus your energies on change, but change is in short supply. What do you do?
We like to feel that we are in control and we make futile efforts to bring an end to what is happening in our lives, and many times, we make that difficult situation worse. The children of Israel were in a difficult situation, but they called on the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Then God brought change.
So they were finally on their way. I could only imagine the joy in the hearts of these people. After living in slavery for about 400 years, freedom was in view. But in transactions, there is an exchange. Sometimes, as in trade, people exchange things of equal value. Then there are times when one profits as the other loses. The people gained their freedom while Egypt lost free labor. But unexpected change was on the way. The Lord made the king of Egypt stubborn, so he chased the Israelites, who were leaving victoriously. (Exodus 14:8 NCV)
When God brings victory in your life, the enemy comes in at times to roll back your victory. Just remember that God doesn’t change, and He is all powerful. When you see the Pharaohs of this life coming after you, don’t be afraid. It’s the same whether you see them in the distance or they catch up to you. God is in control, and He can take care of His own. Trust God through change.
Thought for Today: Friend, don’t fear the wind of change.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
