Trust God and His Plan

What do you do when your greatest fear becomes your reality? We tend to believe that we will act this way or that. But what is the single most important element that dictates our reaction in times of crisis?

Well, when the Children of Israel saw Pharaoh’s army approaching, they said, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?  (Exodus 14:11 NLT) You would think their reaction would be different because of their experiences with God and their miraculous deliverance from slavery just a moment ago. They saw the power of God on display when the plagues covered Egypt but did not harm them. A cloud of dust that signaled the chariots of Egypt, and they began to reproach Moses and God.

You see, God had a plan! That is why the writer of Proverbs says to trust God and not your understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) The only outcome they can visualize is death by Egyptians. But that was not God’s plan. When the dust of the chariots of Egypt are on your heels, don’t be alarmed. God has a plan. He will not bring you out without taking you through. The single most important element that dictates our reaction in times of crisis is how much we can trust God.

Thought for Today: Friend, in every crisis, trust God.
