Trust God and Trust His Plan: Glory on Display

Difficulty does not discriminate. It visits the old, the young, the rich, the poor; it’s not if it will visit, but when. Roy T Bennett said, “Life is about accepting the challenges along the way, choosing to keep moving forward, and savoring the journey.”

How do we savor the moment when the issue ahead has the potential to destroy? That was the predicament the children of Israel faced in Exodus 14. Many times, we try our best to understand God’s plan. The Hebrews were finally free, but instead of allowing them to go on their way rejoicing, God hardened Pharaoh’s heart. “And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they will charge in after the Israelites. My great glory will be displayed through Pharaoh and his troops, his chariots, and his charioteers.” (Exodus 14:17 NLT).

Pharoah just couldn’t let them leave; he thought about the free labor to build his kingdom. Lost in his memory was the death of the first born. But through the hardness of his heart, God will get glory. God would perform such a feat that all will have to acknowledge that He is God. (Verse 18) You see, God was orchestrating His plan. At times, we become uneasy because we don’t know His plan and panic sets in. But this is not the time to panic. It’s the time to trust God on the journey.

As we look at what’s happening in the world today, there is a tendency to panic because we don’t know the plan. Don’t panic, trust God, and trust His plan. He has everything under control.  And that’s not all; “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28)
