Can you imagine what it would be like to wake up in the palace and find out that you belong in the slave quarters? You are eating and drinking with the king while your family members are making bricks in the field.
That was Moses’ predicament. When he was a baby, Pharaoh’s daughter rescued him from floating on the river. She took him to her house and raised him as her son, a prince in Egypt. However, his mother was his paid nanny, and she taught him his about his God and his culture. There would be those who would reject both the culture and God to enjoy life in the palace. However, Moses was different.
Moses was poised to have an easy life, but he walked away from the ease of palace life. He (Moses) chose to be mistreated with God’s people instead of having the good time that sin could bring for a little while. (Hebrews 11:25 CEV). He knew what he was giving up could not be compared with what God had in store for him. He chose walking with God over worldly pleasures; he discovered that God had purpose for his life. What about you? Are you choosing worldly pleasures or walking with God? Choose God and discover His purpose.
