When Morning Brings Joy

Have you ever been in a situation  when life was extremely difficult? You do your best, but nothing changes, and you wonder if change would ever come. Then you read Psalm 30:5 NLT, which says, “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

When I read the second part of this verse, I thought about  seasons in life.  The night season will come to us at some point in our lives; they are  dark and difficult.  Here, David is talking about God’s faithfulness during his night seasons. He begins with, “I will exalt you, Lord, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.” (Verse 1).

Night seasons  are not easy; ask Job. In the midst of his night season experience,  Job’s friends came to visit to tell him how sinful he was. Yet, Job’s night season had nothing to do with sin in his life.  God is faithful during every season. “No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG). Even when you weep during your night, joy is coming in the morning.

Though for Today: Friend, the night season will not last forever; morning is come.
