Forgive to be Forgiven!

No community could exist without forgiveness. The community would exist until the first infraction, but without forgiveness, it would fall apart. “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.” (CS Lewis).

It’s extremely rare for there to be an issue with only one person at fault. We are people, and if we belong to a community, we will offend someone. It’s will not be the intent, but it will happen. This happens in the community of faith; It happens in the community of family, and it happens in the community of friends. “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” (Colossians 3:13 NLT).

We all have been on both sides of the issue. We have to forgive, and we have to be forgiven. As we mature, it becomes easier to say, “I’m sorry.”  Matthew 6:12 GW says, “Forgive us as we forgive others.” So, let’s work on forgiveness, remembering  when we withhold forgiveness from others, God will withhold forgiveness from us.

Thought for Today: Friend, forgive willingly so God can forgive you willingly.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
