Our lifestyle says a lot about us and what we believe. It demonstrates our values and tells the world who we are. At times, we may identify with a particular group based on our words, but our lifestyle may tell a different story. In other words, our actions speak louder than our words.
As people of faith, we tell the world that we are walking with God. That means that we are living by the example of Jesus Christ, which is not always easy, but it’s possible. Why? 1 John 2:6 NLT says, “Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” What does that mean in our world today? Jesus was a man who demonstrated compassion. The dictionary defines compassion as recognizing the suffering of others, deeply caring, and then taking action to help. When the multitude listened to Him for hours, He fed them. When they were sick, He he healed them. When their loved ones died, He raised them from the dead.
The world has changed, but is there a place for compassion in our lifestyle? Yes, there is! “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our society lacks compassion; but Jesus was a man of compassion, and we ought to emulate His example.
Thought for Today: Friend, let compassion flow.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
