There are some people that others would like to meet. Some would camp outside of big events just to get a glimpse of those they would like to meet. In most cases, these people are not willing to meet and talk with them.
When Jesus walked the earth, people wanted to meet him. However, He wanted to meet them also. The woman with the issue of blood wanted healing, so she touched the hem of his garment. The blind man wanted to see, so he raised his voice to get Jesus’ attention. Zaccheaus wanted to meet Jesus, but he felt that Jesus wouldn’t have anything to do with him, so he was content to see him. He was short, so he climbed up and sat in a tree. Zaccheaus worked for Rome and earned a reputation as a corrupt tax collector. He didn’t know that Jesus came to earth to meet people just like him.
Today, people still believe that Jesus would not have anything to do with them because, like Zaccheaus, they believe their corrupt lifestyle will turn Him away. That is misinformation. Truth be told, His mission then and know is to connect with sinners. Jesus said, “For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.” (Luke 19:10 NLT). He is concerned about you. There is no one who is so wicked or corrupt that Jesus would be unwilling to save. The Apostle Paul said, “This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.” (1 Timothy 1:15). Paul was busy killing Jesus’ followers, but he was not too corrupt for Jesus to save. If you are willing, He is ready and able to come into your life and change you from the inside out. Are you willing to give Him the opportunity? The choice is yours!
