I am sitting here thinking about all the things that have crossed my path in my life. Sometimes, life was easy, and other times, life was tough. But throughout all the difficulties in life, one thing was constant, God’s faithfulness.
There is a picture that was very popular some time ago. It was a picture of footsteps. When the journey started, and life was easy, there were two sets of footsteps walking side by side. During the pressures of life, there was just one set. The individual in question thought that he was walking alone. He found out that one set of steps meant that he was carried. 1 Peter 5:7 NLT says, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
Life can be challenging, and without caution, it might overwhelm you. When life is overwhelming, there is hope in God. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV). It’s no wonder that Thomas Chisholm penned the words to the hymn, Great is Thy Faithfulness. The chorus ends with these words:
“All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.”
God is faithful; He will not be missing in action when you need Him. When you feel all alone, check the footprints; it will confirm that you are not alone, you are being carried.
Thought for Today: Friend, let the Lord carry you; He is able.
