There is a saying that people use when the path to success favors someone they deed undeserving. People shake their heads and say that it’s not what you know but who you know. Your connections can give you benefits.
When God called Abraham, God told him, “All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:4 NLT). Did God mean that will all be financially independent? Definitely not! God wanted to offer salvation to everyone, so He sent Jesus Christ into the world as a descendent of Abraham to pay the ultimate price so we can become children of God. Ephesians 2: 8-9 says, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”
So, what does that mean for us? In days of old, people had to go to God with animals and sacrifice to cover their sin. But the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10). We are all blessed through Abraham’s faith and obedience in God. We are now the recipients of salvation. Glory to God!
Thought for Today: Friend, take advantage of God’s gift of salvation.
