There is a difference between night and day. It is much easier to navigate your environment during the day. The daytime is characterized by light, and it’s difficult to conduct certain activities because you are in full view. The night, however, is different; it’s easier to conduct activities that might not be easily seen so wrong doers, love the cover of darkness.
The Apostle Paul instructed the Roman Church to live as people we of light. He said, “Let us live properly, as people do in the daytime — not partying and getting drunk, not engaging in sexual immorality and other excesses, not quarrelling and being jealous.” (Romans 13:13 CJB). He gave guidance about our lifestyle as people of faith. Why? Our lifestyle tells the world who we are. We are ambassadors living on earth, representing our Father who lives in heaven.
Paul used the words “live properly.” His desire as that we live in a manner that pleases God. You see, as ambassadors, our actions must reflect our association with Him. The Apostle continued, “Instead, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not give any thought to satisfying the desires of your sinful flesh.” (Verse 14). We continually make this choice daily to say no to our sinful desires and yes to God.
Thought for Today: Friend, let your lifestyle please God.
