Children get new toys, and the hope is that those toys will last for a season. While that is true for some children, there are those who break apart those toys the day after they receive them. Parents watch and shake their heads in disbelief.
God created man in His own image and placed him in the perfect environment. But, just like the children with the toys, man ruined the perfect relationship with God through disobedience. The enemy of man came into that perfect environment and began to sow seeds of distrust. “One day, he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” (Genesis 3:1 NLT). The woman repeated God’s directives: she said if they eat, they will die. He told her a bold-faced lie; he said, “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. (Genesis 3:4). And sadly, she believed the lie.
There are people today who, like the woman in the garden, fall for the lies of the enemy. There are so many voices that, at times, you might become confused. When that happens, you don’t have to walk in confusion. Before He left, Jesus promised the Holy Spirit. If you listen to His voice, the Holy Spirit will guide you in all truth. (John 16:13).
Thought for Today: Friend, believe what God says.
