Have you ever met someone, and you believe that you were in the right place at the right time? Many believe this, but God guides us to where we need to be, when He chooses.
In John 4, Jesus encounters a Samaritan woman at the well. She was not an upstanding citizen and the community despised her. So, she ran her errands when the citizens were inside to avoid meeting people. While she was avoiding people, she came face to face with Jesus. He did something that the average Jew would not do: He asked her for water. She was shocked! Jesus told her: “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” (John 4:10 NLT). She was still confused so Jesus continued: “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” (verses 13-14).
The same holds true today; people are thirsty. They seek the pleasures of this life to satisfy that thirst deep down on the inside and Jesus has the same response that He gave to the Samaritan woman at the well: those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. The woman came to get water to cook and clean but received water that quench the thirst in her soul. If you are thirsty- Jesus Christ will quench your thirst.
