Jesus Brings Change

Warren Wierbse said, “Nothing paralyzes our lives like the attitude that things can never change. We need to remind ourselves that God can change things.” Sometimes, people can become so conditioned to the negative situations in their lives that they lose hope for change.

When we think of the woman at the well, we see a woman trapped by her past. She made unwise choices and now she had to live with them. The day she met Jesus at the well, brought change into her life. While she spoke with Jesus, she recognized that there was something different about Him. She said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” (John 4:25 NLT). She was seeking the savior not realizing that she was face to face with the Christ. Then Jesus told her, “I Am the Messiah!” (verse 26).

The Samaritan woman’s encounter with Jesus Christ transformed her, driving her to tell those in her community. As a result, change came to her community. We are called to do the same. There are people who need to know that there is hope when they face the challenges of life. I pray like the Samaritan woman, we will tell the world that the Messiah is still bringing change to lives today.

Thought for Today: Friend, change is possible.
