What do you do when those connected to you do not understand your mission? That is a problems leaders face because that lack of understanding can lead to chaos about the activities of the leader and how those activities relate to the group.
Jesus faced this problem in John 4. The disciples went to buy food while Jesus was sitting at the well. While sitting there, He was doing the work of ministry; He stated His mission in Luke 19:10 NLT: “For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.” When the disciples returned, He was speaking with the Samaritan woman and they were surprised but decided against asking questions. However, they offered Him food. But Jesus replied, “I have a kind of food you know nothing about.” (John 4:32). They were more confused because they didn’t understand that His food was fulfilling His Father’s will.
Here is Jesus walking in His purpose and destiny and the disciples didn’t understand what He was doing. Jesus came to bring transformation into the lives of men. 2 Corinthians 5:19 tells us: For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. Now that we understand His mission, we are called to share His message .
Thought for Today: Friend, understand the mission.
