In every life there comes a time when you must shake off your fear and anxiety and do something. You want too, but fear has you wrapped in bondage. What do you do? You take the first step.
Moses found himself in that predicament. He understood that deliverance for the people required action from him; he had to act. “Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!” (Exodus 14:21-22 NLT). His action opened the door for God’s miracle. If he didn’t raise his hand, they would perish.
At times, the issues we face can invoke fear in our lives; so fearful that we are afraid to raise our hands. We are so focused on our limitations that we forget that the battle belongs to God. (2 Chronicles 20:15). When we raise our hands in faith, it opens the door for God to act. Then God comes in and brings change; He turns defeat into victory. Even now, with all that is happening around us, God does not change. Let us let go of fear, walk in faith, and put our trust in Him.
Thought for Today: Friend, don’t be afraid to raise your hand.
