Imagine getting the news that you’ve been waiting to hear! You’ve dreamed about it and you can’t believe that it’s finally about to happen You’ve wondered how it would feel when it comes to pass in your life and you can’t believe that that you’ve finally about to live out your dream.
I’m sure Abraham felt that way in Genesis 12. He had been going about his day performing his daily tasks when his routine was interrupted. “The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. (Genesis 12:1-2 NLT).” Well, it’s impossible to become a nation without becoming a father first. Abraham was happy beyond measure. His years of childlessness was coming to an end.
But, the timeline was not what he expected it to be. When we have a promise from God, we want the answer immediately. Abraham waited twenty-five years to see the promise become a reality. His son Isaac was boen; he never lost hope in the ability of God to bring the promise to reality in his life. “And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.” (Genesis 15:6).
Thought for Today: Friend, don’t lose hope; wait on the Lord.
