Angel Gabriel: Voice of Proclamation

People use their voices in a variety of ways. There are people who use their voices to humiliate others while others use their voice to bring healing. There are also voices that convey God’s desires.

As we continue to look at the voices in the birth of Jesus Christ, we cannot miss the voice of the Angel Gabriel. The angel was the voice of proclamation. In the world, a proclamation is a public or official announcement, especially one dealing with a matter of significant importance. But when we look at God and His work a proclamation is more. It is to authoritatively declare God’s divine message: His truth, commands, promises, and the Gospel, with power and conviction, calling people to hear, believe, and act. When Mary was confused, the Angel Gabriel declared: Not one promise from God is empty of power. Nothing is impossible with God!” (Luke 1:37 TPT).

Did the voice of proclamation end with the Angel Gabriel? Definitely not! In 2025, God uses people to proclaim His word. We have His written word: the Bible and we have His servants who declare His word to us. However, we have a responsibility to discern whose voice we listen to. 1 John 1:4 NLT says: “Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.”

Thought for Today: Friend, God servants proclaim His word.
