Choices are decisions we make in life. How we make decisions say a lot about who we are. Do we make decisions based on feelings or do we take the time to examine all the options available before making that decision?
Napoleon Bonaparte said, “Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.” So what do we need to make godly decisions? We need wisdom to know what we need to do and when is the appropriate manner and time to get it done. That can be difficult but not impossible because James 1:5 AMP says, “If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.” Wisdom for decision making comes from God.
One factor in making quality decisions is having access to all the pertinent information. Sometimes, that is easier said than done because there are individuals who have difficulty with the truth. As a result, we cannot rely on what we know; we have to trust God. You see, God has access to the information that individuals are doing their best to keep from you. Since the decisions we make today impact our tomorrow, those decisions demand wisdom from God and faith to trust Him.
Thought for Today: Friend, when you lack wisdom, ask God.
