Rerouting

On of the most difficult things on a journey is making a wrong turn. A round turn can be disastrous. Before the age of GPS, wrong turns were not so easy to correct. You may need to get back to the point in your journey where you went off course to continue the journey, Nowadays, the GPS would say, rerouting and keep you on track.

In life, it is the same. There are some who missed a turn and can’t seem to find their way back. There was a woman in the Bible who had a similar experience. The woman was Rahab; she lived on the wall and was a woman of ill-repute. One day, two men came to spy out the land of Jericho. “Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.” (Joshua 2:1 NIV) The people of Jericho were uneasy; they wanted to locate the men. They knew that Rahab entertained men, they went to her. Rehab took this opportunity to reroute her life, so she protected the spies.

Eventually, the day of battle arrived. The Children of Israel marched around the walls of Jericho for six days, one time a day. On the seventh day, they marched around the city seven times with horns. “The seventh time around, as the priests sounded the long blast on their horns, Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the town! Jericho and everything in it must be completely destroyed as an offering to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and the others in her house will be spared, for she protected our spies.” (Joshua 6:16-17 NLT) Rahab rerouted her life; she had the opportunity for a new beginning. Later, she became Boaz’s mother.

Thought for Today: Friend, it’s never too late to reroute.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
