Jesus taught his disciples, saying, “Listen to me. Never let anxiety enter your hearts. Never worry about any of your needs, such as food or clothing. For your life is infinitely more than just food or the clothing you wear. Luke 12:22-23 TPT
The world we live into today has many people concerned about tomorrow. Where there is concern then anxiety and worry are not far behind. The dictionary says anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. If we are honest, we will admit the uncertainty in our world could make us anxious. If we don’t want to live with anxiety then we need to guard our hearts.
To guard our hearts, we have to change the way we think. In other words, we have to change what we think about. Philippians 4:8 says, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
Since the battleground for anxiety and worry is the mind it stands to reason that if we occupy our minds with things that are worthy of praise we will not be crowding our minds with things to make us anxious. I pray that we will apply this word to our lives and bring our minds under control so that anxiety and worry will not enter our hearts.
Thought for Today: Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
