Walk Just As He Walked

“So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. Deuteronomy 8:6 NLT

Many times, the end of one season usually signals the beginning of another. This company had been living under Moses’ leadership since they left Egypt about forty years ago and they were about to enter the Promised Land. Moses was about to leave and like every good leader, he challenged them. He desired that the people would walk in the ways of the Lord.

Their blessing was within their grasp. However, possession does not necessarily mean success.  Sometimes, you can be just like this company; you are on the brink of a new experience. What do you do when your blessing is within your grasp? Well if you want continued success, you do what Moses admonished the people to do; you walk in the ways of the Lord. So what does that mean? First, it means that you walk in faith. Moses reminded the people of the goodness of God during their wilderness experience. Moses told them, “Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.” verse 4. You see, “We walk be faith not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Next, Romans 8:1 tells us, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”  Your walk determines your destination. If you want to walk to the park and the park is east of your location and you walk going west, you will not arrive at the park. So if you want to walk in a manner that is pleasing to God, you cannot walk in the direction of the flesh. You have to walk towards Him. 1 John 2:6 says, “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”

Thought for Today: Friend, follow Him and walk like Him

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
