Not Alone

Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses—is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock—not one!” Isaiah 44:8 NLT

What an encouraging and reassuring word; they seem to be written for these uncertain times. We try to make sense of what is happening around us. We ask questions and sometimes there seem to be no answers. When confusion wants to take a hold our lives, we should not be afraid.

Do not be afraid, is something people tell small children in difficult situations. But there are situations in our lives when it is necessary to remember that God commands us that we should not walk in fear. Isaiah 41:10 tells us, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.  Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.  I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” This inspires confidence in the timid individual because, even when he is overwhelmed with the cares of this life, it’s comforting to know that God will empower you to stand in situations where you would normally fall apart.

Now, the integrity of the person making the claim gives credibility to the promise. So when God makes a promise, then we can be confident in His ability to deliver. Hebrews 6:13 says, For example, there was God’s promise to Abraham. Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in his own name.” God keeps His word. He will do exactly what He says.

Thought for Today: When life gets difficult, trust God

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
