Walk in God’s Way

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21 NKJV

When children are young, parents do their best to direct their steps so that they will walk in the way that is right. Parents give them support as they learn how to use their little feet to walk; and as they grow older, they provide guidance to help them navigate their lives, so that their walk or lifestyle will be pleasing to God and man.

In the same way, our heavenly Father wants His children to walk in a manner that is pleasing to Him. Here, the people were confident in their abilities and decided that they didn’t need God. Unfortunately, there are many people today, who share that same mindset; they believe that they are totally responsible for their success. Luke 12 talks about a foolish young man who believed that he controlled both his riches and his time on earth. One day, he looked around him and was so pleased with his accomplishments, that he made bigger and better plans. Unfortunately, he perished that same night!

As powerful and capable humanity appears to be, they cannot stand against the power of God. But what do you do when your self-made plans crash and burn? Your only option is to return to God. God is gracious; He is not like man. While there will be consequences for disobedience, God is willing to forgive and point you in the way that you should go. He told the people in Isaiah’s day, “This is the way, walk in it.” The message is the same today. He sent his Son to make a way. Jesus said in John 14:6,“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” God established His way; we need to walk in it.

Thought for Today: Friend, God’s way is the only way.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
