God Rewards Righteousness

Righteousness (being in right standing with God) guards the one whose way is blameless, But wickedness undermines and overthrows the sinner.  Proverbs 13:6 AMP

Many times people have difficulty coming to a consensus on what is right or wrong. Sometimes, their background determines their view on the subject. But there are some things in life that are not dependent on your view. If you want to drive legally, you need a valid driver’s license. If you believe that the multiplicity has no power to control your actions, and you are found driving without a valid license, there will be consequences. It’s the same way with God. He set the standards and rewards righteousness.

When it comes to righteousness, God is looking for right actions and attitudes. It’s not a one day a week thing but an everyday thing. Righteousness leads to a blameless life. It does not mean that a righteous man would not make a mistake. Abraham was a righteous man and he made a mistake because he was afraid. He moved into a new community and he was afraid for his life, so he told the men that his wife was his sister. She was his sister because they had the same father, but he married her so she was indeed, his wife. However, his lifestyle was pleasing ton God.And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.” Genesis 15:6

Wickedness reaps its own reward. While David was king, his son, Absalom, conspired to overthrow him. He spent years plotting the rebellion. For a time, all was well. His plan gained momentum and it was full speed ahead! But wickedness is deceptive; it lures you; then abandons you. Our verse today says, undermines and overthrows. That is what happened in Absalom’s life. He tricked and conspired, but in the end, his coup was unsuccessful and he lost his life. God does not reward wickedness; Galatians 6:7 says, “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” God’s justice is sure, if you plant evil, rest assured, you will reap the same,

Thought for Today: Friend, God watches over the righteous.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
