Prosperity Through Obedience

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:8 NLT

Fear! Many people like to think that fear is not part of their lives; unfortunately, they are wrong. Some have a driver’s license but they don’t drive, why?  They are afraid. Some have anxiety when they have to take a test; they cannot sleep and are so anxious about the fact that they have to take this test, they cannot function. They fail, not because they don’t know the content, but because fear has made them a failure.

Joshua worked with Moses and now Moses was dead and Joshua was uncertain about how to proceed. But God had plans for Joshua, He said, “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them.” God outlined the task for Joshua. God never calls you to a mission without giving you the tools that you would need to make your mission a success.

So God gave Joshua the formula for success. You must spend time in the Word of God. The Word of God is not something you set aside for when things go awry; it’s a daily guide for your life. You see, there are people who spread a lot of misinformation and the only way to get to the truth, is to meditate on the Word day and night. Why did God tell Joshua to do this? When you know God’s Word then you will live according to His Word. God’s promise to Joshua was not just for him; it is for every child of God who walks in obedience. Parents reward children who are obedient; it’s the same with God. God spoke like a firm parent when He said, “Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Prosperity with God comes through obedience.

Thought for Today: Friend, God will prosper those who obey.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
