Summer is the most enjoyable period of a child’s life; it’s a time for fun and enjoyment. It represents freedom from the classroom and a time to spend your day as you choose to a certain degree. Some children have to attend Summer School to do make-up classes but even so, it’s better than the regular school year because for some students, the days are shorter. When children enjoy the pleasure of no school days you begin to think that they don’t enjoy learning.
We are all encouraged to be lifelong learners. The dictionary defines learning as the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, study, or by being taught. While formal learning takes place in a classroom setting; learning can happen anywhere. Most important of all, learning is not age restricted. One day, a man named Nicodemus, came to Jesus because he wanted to acquire some knowledge since he recognized that God was with Him.
“Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” (John 3:3 NLT). He was confused; he didn’t understand the new terminology that Jesus used. “Born again? What does that mean?” Now his only experience with birth was l where a woman gave birth to a child. He couldn’t understand how a grown man can enter into his mother’s womb and be born again. So Jesus took some time to explain this mystery to Nicodemus. In John 3: 5-7 Jesus said; “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.”
In man, there is a desire to have a relationship with God but we want to do it our way. Titus 3:5 tells us, “he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.” The way to God is not paved with good works but through the mercy and grace of God. Jesus Christ is the only way to see the kingdom of God.
