Each of us must confront our own fears, must come face to face with them. How we manage our fears will determine where we go with the rest of our lives. To experience adventure or to be limited by the fear of it.” Judy Blume. Fear, will invade our lives at some point or another, but what do we do in the face of fear?
There are some moments in life that bring joy accompanied by fear. Joshua was the newly appointed leader of Israel. He knew how difficult the task could be. He was Moses’ support staff so he knew firsthand how troublesome the people could become. God was aware of the uncertainty and fear that just engulfed Joshua’s heart and mind and so He wanted Joshua to know that he was not alone. So, he had a conversation with him; “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NLT
In verse 3, God told Joshua, “I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you.” And that was not all, God said, “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” verse 5. What more could he ask? Is the promise of God’s presence just for Joshua? Praise God, it’s not. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Joshua led Israel to possess the Promised Land. If you, like Joshua, would put your trust in God, you will have the same results Joshua had, success. When you put your trust in God, success follows. Remember, success with God, can mean succeeding today where you failed yesterday.
Thought for Today: Friend, when you trust in God, you would find success.
