Don’t Lose Your Blessing!

Finally, the day came when the children of Israel arrived at the place God prepared for them. There was a change in plan, not because God was indecisive but because the people walked in unbelief. Our actions can stand in the way of the plans God has for our lives.

They left Egypt and Pharaoh behind and they we able to chart their own course. God told Moses to send twelve men to investigate the land. If God knew what was before them, why was it necessary for these twelve to investigate? Well, armies don’t go into battle without  information about the enemy. Knowledge helps you prepare for what is ahead. If the enemy has guns, you don’t want to appear in the fight with bats and knives. Moses gave them directions and sent them off.

When they returned, they stated the facts; “We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces.” (Numbers 13:27 NLT) God led them to a place that would support them. Then they gave their interpretation about what they saw; “But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak.” (Verse 28)  Their report discouraged the entire company and as a result, the people did not want to move forward with God’s plan.

That is sad; the influence of a few derailed the blessings of God for the entire group. God was displeased with their actions; their actions exposed a lack of faith and trust in God’s ability to provide. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” As a result, they wandered in the wilderness for forty years. Let’s not question God’s ability to provide for us. Nothing takes Him by surprise. He knows about every obstacle in our path and has a plan to work things out for our good.

Thought for Today: Friend, trust God’s plan.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory,
