It’s Top-Secret!

When we watch movies, especially those James Bond type movies, there is always something that is top secret. Enemy agents are always searching for every opportunity to get their hands and eyes on that information. That information is usually sensitive and not for public access. So, the enemy will steal, kill, and destroy everyone and everything to gain access.

The Bible tells us that God has some top-secret information as well. Psalm 25:14 AMP tells us, “The secret [of the wise counsel] of the Lord is for those who fear Him, And He will let them know His covenant and reveal to them [through His word] its [deep, inner] meaning.”  God’s purpose is not to keep His top-secret information hidden. He has that information set aside for those who fear Him.

The key to access God’s top-secret information is to fear God. When we hear, fear God, we revert to our natural understanding and fear grips out hearts. The dictionary defines fear as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous. That is the emotion when we walk the street alone at 2:00 am. But the fear of the lord is different. Psalm 111:10 NLT, “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.” Wisdom is one of God’s secret things that would be unlocked in our lives if we fear God.

So how do we fear God? Fearing God demands that we honor Him as the creator of the universe. God created everything on earth by His word. He said, “Let there be,” and there was. He is the all-powerful, all-knowing, everlasting God; the God to whom nothing is impossible. How do we respond to a God like that? We honor, worship, and adore Him. When we reverence God, we have access to His secret things.

Thought for Today: Friend, fear God and access will be granted.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
