The Bible says that David was a man after God’s own heart. Many if not all of us want God to look at our lives and have the same response. When we look at David’s life, he had many ups and downs, but one thing was constant in his life: it was his relationship with God.
When we read the Book of Psalm, we see that David spent a lot of time talking to God and meditating on His word. In Psalm 119:89 AMP says, Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven [standing firm and unchangeable]. I love this verse in the Amplified Version because it tells us what makes God’s word settled: it stands firm and it’s unchangeable. There are many documents that were signed and when new information becomes available, the officers must make changes or amend the document.
Not so with God’s word; it’s unchanging. “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8). Here is what Barnes’ Notes on the Bible says about the Word of God. “’Amidst all revolutions among men, his promise shall be firm. It shall not only live amidst the changes of dynasties, and the revolutions of empires, but it shall continue forever and ever.”” God’s word is unchanging in an ever-changing world. There are not too many things that have not become a victim of change, but the word of God will stand throughout the ages as a tower of strength. “Heaven and earth [as now known] will pass away, but My words will not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)
The Apostle Peter told the believers in his day, “”But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word [the good news of salvation] which was preached to you”. (1 Peter 1:25). The Good News is available to all. God still stands by John 3:16 which says, “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Invite Him into your heart today.
Thought for Today: Friend, God’s word is settled.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
